Drinking & Driving (Montreal 1950's)

This anti-drink & drive campaign is from the late 50's in Montreal,Interesting how it was not really dealt with in those days, but it certainly looks like a forerunner to todays madd campaign :

click on some of the photos & then Zoom In to read some of the signs the kids are holding.
All some of the same things we were warned as kids to look out for, 'cross at the corner' , 'don't play in the street' , etc etc HF&V

now this is certainly a powerful modern day notice, it should be posted in all handicapped spots.

Yes. It's a message that has been a long time coming. I remember working in Albuquerque, NM about 15 years ago and listening to a couple of DJ's on a radio station out of Santa Fe joking about a drunk they saw getting out of a car. We were already getting upset about this here. I was amazed at the attitude in New Mexico. Probably different now.

The message was there but not everyone listened to it. I guess it was like smoking. Here is Loren Green form 1956 a very clear message on drinking.
