Canadian Winter is Here & here's a Canada's idea of BBQ Season

Except for Diane, the rest of us are headed into winter here in Canada,

               A Canadian Winter Poem:

It's winter in Canada !

And the gentle breezes blow

Seventy miles an hour

At thirty-five below.

Oh, how I love Canada

When the snow's up to your butt

You take a breath of winter

And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful

So I guess I'll hang around

I could never leave Canada

I'm frozen to the friggin' ground!

nice to see good stuff ,& this takes place all over the Free World,.I'm glad to see young people at least understanding or learning about some of the worlds history.
Every year I'm surprised at how many young people attend the Remembrance Day ceremony's . I will be there again this year at 11 am. maybe I'll try to take a few pictures,(I did that a few years back & posted them)...the crowd is fairly sizeable despite ,the cenotaph being,a smaller one ,not as high profile as the one on the legislative lawn at parlimant buildings here in Victoria BC. The one I go to is a few blocks from me ,so I walk there every year,it's at Cattle Point ,here's a link that shows a few photos of the Monument...... http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM29E0

I hope the separatists show some class and let them enjoy their visit. Why are they wearing two poppies? Is there a significance?

I noticed that the other day on the news, when they were here in Victoria,I have no idea why two poppy's.Maybe they were pinned on them in a ceremony ? Maybe they just steal them........hahahahah HF&RV

That's a possibility - lol. They look a little different - maybe one of them is from England??? They look like they are having fun - tomorrow they can remember Verdun - the other one

Love this poem Les....I'll keep it to read when I go through homesickness now and again! Yes, even after 36 years I still am a Canadian at heart. Watched an Australian TV Special of the upcoming Olympic Games that showed off the "West" beautifully! Had a lump in my throat looking at those beautiful mountains and hearing them singing the praises of how wonderful and friendly the Canadians are....made me proud!......Have a good winter, as for me, I'm already getting a suntan!....lol...Diane
