Embed: Images/photos in either Posts or Comments ( Dead Easy)

This is even easier than we thought, I should have exlpored it earlier, However here's a Very Simple way to add a photo,in the Replies/comments.  We all are familiar how to add to an orginal Topic or Thread,.......but to add in the comments below: Do This

First Thing is add whatever photo you lie to an album on your personal site in the Photo's section. Once you have the photo in your album ,click on the photo, and it will then show below the picture all the words across the bottom from

edit     add photos      anyway Click on the Word SHARE,

you will then see the options : Embed Photo

                                              : Embed Album

                                              : Link

                                              : Add to

So  'Hi Light ' the Code you see in the Embed Photo window then Right Click ,hit 'Copy' and then simply paste it in whichever window you like under Comments / Replies..then just add the post or save it , it will then turn that code into the photo .

I hope that's easy enough to do,......... Try it ,               HF&RV

I also should mention that regardless of what site your on,usually the 'share' this photo option is there, and it too can beused to access the photo's url code,& hilight it and copy & paste , here on Multiply as you have been doing on other Blog's & sites. I don't know why I didn't think Multiply allowed this,or perhaps they've added the capabilty to do so this year ?

Les - it's on my site again - I had deleted it - but it is saved on my computer - so I just put it back. I'll try another one in a little while - I have to go and have strawberry shortcake for a while - a friend's birthday :) My site is pretty sad - I should do something about that :(

Les F said...

Strawberry Shortcake ,..my favourite & when I was a kid my mother would take us to Gregory's restauarant ,(get this ,after Church), see I did attend when I had too, well till was about 8 or 9 ......hahahahaha I could have one treat after Church , it was always either Straberry Shortcake, Strawberry Sunday(sundae ?) or Strawberry Milkshake,...never 2 out of 3 ,only one , lol hf&rv

ps: Just checked your site again, I think you may have hidden them when customising your site,I know I eliminated a few options off my site, such as guestbook etc etc .....So your photos may only be showing up for you??

Les F said...

I think this is how you added ,the lightning, it seems to be from Video,
here's one from My Site ,.it's an old Molson adveertisement, and deals with two things I like. (lol)

How about those bolts..............hahahahahah HF&RV

Sandy Walsh said...

lol - I think those little guys are "multiplying" too - remember that cartoon once posted "men ask for the strangest things" - the cake was good but we had a hard time finding matches to light the candles - no one had any. We almost had to resort to rubbing two sticks together.

Les F said...

Yup I Remember that one........

Sandy Walsh said...

This cartoon cracks me up - I love the way his tail is hanging over the side of the sink- not to mention that it is perverted. Les - I copied your bolts onto my site but where it says "access", what am I supposed to choose? I thought if I show "everybody" that hundreds of people would get it in their inbox and I certainly don't want that to happen - so how do you put a picture on your site, that only people who visit your site can see it?

Les F said...

Sandy just add anything you like to one of your photo albums, and only those who visit your site will be able to see it...and that's only if they open that particular album. It does not go to everyones 'in box' just cause you saved it. Start an album where you only save funny stuff you like ( and if someone visit's that album,& doesn't like it .Who Cares..........hahahaha) all your other albums can be filled with other more serious stuff if you like.
Checkout everyones personal site and you will see you can save & post what you like on your site, and then choose from there what you may want to post on Group Sites....Good luck HF&RV

We all are whether we like to admit it or not. For some reason all that is going through my mind is 2 steamies all dressed . They don't know what that is in beautiful Manitoba.

Les F said...

Brian , have you ever tried this place in Calgary,.or do you find yourself in Alberta very often ?
The Place is called King of Subs,.and according to their website ,they claim Montreal style, subs, steamies, smoked meat etc etc ....I've never been there, but it may be Ok ,who knows,.If you go to Calagary ( alittle closer than Montreal of course) you could check it out & give us a review:
http://www.albertakingofsubs.com/index.htm they have a littel youtube video of their menu or part of it,of course it would be hard to beat the Montreal stuff we were used too,...

Sandy Walsh said...

haha I like the play on words. Pauline - Les - now that we know how to embed, is it possible to put a picture back on the front page in the same way - rather than the little picture of the stairs on the side. I did it on my site after much aggravation.

Les F said...

Sandy I can't believe ,that you mention this, Just prior to reading this comment of yours , I was debating about customizing the front page, There is definetly a possibilty of doing this, However we ran into problems with the distortion of the photo we tried to use. Maggie had a background photo initally but as I say it didn't look right. So we've let it rest, I will check with Maggie again, and try to change the look, I spoke with another member just yesterday about this as well. ESP Sandy.....
We do have an alternate VC site ,which we don't use (as much) if at all,...So perhaps some experimenting there will be in order ,until I know exactly what i'm doing,......
o I guess the short answer ,instead of this long wided diatribe is . Yes we can ........Iknow we can, I know we can....choo choo choo ...................hahahahaha HF&RV

It's the Manx connection maybe

Les F said...

Here's a coin I have with te 3 legs of Man symbol........ No Matter which way you fall you always land on your feet.......................

It's like a favourite coin of mine, with a story to go along with it, However I will spare you .........hahahahaha HF&RV

This is a Five Pound Coin,.....making it very uncompfortable to carry a bunch of them at one time,....but let's face it noone really minds carrying a few extra pounds........hahahahah

Sandy Walsh said...

Hey - neat coin - I wonder if those Manx cats (they don't have tails) have something to do with the idea that cats always land on their feet. Now I'm curious about the story behind it - curious like a cat.

Just posting some old photos of the Verdun boardwalk from my album no. 5 and at the same time practicing. This one is of the 500 Social and Swimming Club and dates probably from the 20s or the 30s and was at the foot of second avenue. The Leblanc wharf was also situated there where we would rent boats and buy ice cream cones in the 30s and the 40s. Unfortunately, many of these old photos we have at the SHGV are undated and some with no description. However, we do have the old Guardians from the early thirties to the early 80s wich are a real goldmine and where I believe I found this photo.

As we start to use more of the available tools provided here on Multiply, (I guess i was just being complacent with the site as it was,& didn't really explore or pay attention to some of the options,......but another interesting way to check the site ,to see if your up to date on all the posts, is to use those 3 box options under the "In Box" Recent Updates spot,.which allows you to choose whose msgs you want to read :Recent Updates
Friends of Friends, -------------------------:Groups, ---------------------------:Only Unread
I generally have the first two boxes checked ,but rarely check the last option (Only Unread)
If you check that box, You just may be surprised at how many messages you've missed.
I try to read all the msgs. first thing in the morning & again later in the day, but I've missed tons of them. I usually try to respond to anyone posting a msg, so they know they've not wasted their time p[osting....... Have a look, you can just as easliy 'uncheck' the box again, too........... HF&RV

Video can also be added in the replies or comments ,as well. See the new video in the comments below the Heart Attack Grill video,...... The song is great ( JMHO) I like the gals voice as well as the piano in the background & of course the sax.......... I would definetly try this place out,as the burgers look great, don't know if I could 'stomach' a triple, but a single would be on the experimental list, skip the fries ,but wash it down with a beer.............hahahaha LOL

I understand that Mel Gibson is filming a Jodie Foster directed movie in upstate New York right now called "The Beaver" - knowing him, that could be about just about anything but she doesn't usually get involved in bad movies.

Another Hotdog line up for Sandy:

Here's some information that accompanied this photo:
Taken in October 1953,it is a gathering of 2000 (yup two thousand) singers from across Canada, & get this it is attended by 5000 Spectators,..............that's a lot of hotdogs baby......
Also other info about Montreal's first 'BigO' is that construction started in 1924........it wasn't completed until 1955.so this photo was taken 2 years before the final completion of the Oratory.
ps: Sandy I have not looked up the info onthe other photo yet (as to what the occasion was, could have been just a Midnight Mass ???.but when I come across it, I will let you know)

Les F said...

A lot of similarities Btwn: this BIG O(we) , and the othere Big O in the previous post.
1: They both took a long time to finish building
2: They both ap[prantly sell hotdogs
3: They are both able to hold a Mass
4: They get a lot of money from you ,just by entering
5: They both have Tours
........and They Both have a Connection to old Bro. Andre,.you see in this photo ,it's a Mass held for the beautification of old Bro Andre.........

.No word on whether he made it into the club yet, but the Vatican is supposed to get back to us on that,in about another 900 years,....I'll post it here,as soon as we verify the info.......lol HF&RV

Sandy Walsh said...

Les - I just googled around a bit and found that at the Rome part of the beatification there were 2000 Canadians among the 50,000 people and they brought John Paul II maple syrup and a copper rooster????? I wonder if they sell hot dogs at the Vatican. I was there once but had a lot to contend with because I was wearing a sleeveless top and they said I had to cover my head. I ended up "buying" a scarf sort of thing that covered my head and draped down over my shoulders - that made them happy. That made me forget to check out the hot dog situation. I don't know if they are still so strict about what people wear.

The "O"ratory was still under construction into the late sixties. They were building a church above the main church - way up at the top. We used to often prowl around in there - the construction site
- even when it was so-called finished, there still weren't any pews in it. Maybe that first picture is that???? because it doesn't appear to have any pews. It was huge, cavernous, dark and cold. We would crawl around where they were building (installing) the organ. Funny - no one ever stopped us or asked what we were doing. After all that adventure, we headed over to the caf for some hot dogs :)

Sandy Walsh said...

Wow - I sure bombed that test. At least I'm not a wiener.

Sandy Walsh said...

I see that the Front Page has the logo back on - like the old site. Maybe it's been like that for a while but I just noticed it now. Looks good but it says Verdun Connections twice - the script one looks better.

Les We are leaving in early am for Calgary to see the grandchildren and to visit the King of subs for some steamies and a smoked meat. I will let you know if they meet Montreal standards. Once again thanks for the info Brian

Have a good trip & I hope the place lives up to it's hype........ have a safe trip. HF&RV

Brian Gearey said...

Les We were in Calgary for Thanksgiving and we decided to try Alberta king of subs for the smoked meat, steamies and poutine. My son went aweek later and we agree on the following.1- smoked meat lousy ( it was so greasy and slimy I could not eat it.no taste at all the owner said on both times the store was not busy and the meat had been in the steamer too long 2- steamies were good. 3- The poutine was good. Word to the wise STAY AWAY FROM THE SMOKED MEAT Brian

Les F said...

That's too bad Brian, I always woder & hope for the best, when I hear of a place being touted as having a 'real' Montreal Smoke Meat . It is usually not the case,I think what happens is when you don't have one for a long time ( a real one) then you stumble across a place it may seem good ,but if your not selling them on a daily basis, like a Montreal store would be then I imagine it's hard to get it right, depending on your employee's too a 15 year old from Alberta who has never eaten a Smoke Meat sandwich let alone been to Montreal,to be able to get it right. The owner should be the guy overseeing that part. Oh well at least you had some Ok steamies.....There's always ordering or getting some smoke meat right from Montreal & making your own sandwichs.which Brian, Teresa & I are doing tonight,as I have a vaacum sealed package in the fridge
