Steinberg's Money ? ,

I remember that Steinberg's had a stamp book (was it Green Stamps) when you bought grocery's you would get these stamps that went into a special book, later to be exchanged for more purchases at Steinberg's ,.but I came across these scans of Steinberg's Dollars ,.I don't recall these , Do any of You ?

I will also add these two shots to the Steinberg's storefront photo's in one of my albums ,.................                              HF&RV

ps: was it green stamps or was it gold stamps ???  I'll try to find a photo of them ,unless one of you out there have a pic to share ?

so it was Pinky Stamps,  and other stores had stamps too one was called S&H Green Stamps :

Miracle Mart was a store all on its own. They used the money shown above. There was a Miracle Mart store in Ville Lasalle. They were sort of the forerunner of Woolco.
Consumers Distribution started up and they used to take pinky stamps, so you would go there instead of to Steinberg's with them. I think Dominion gave green stamps, but I'm not sure.

Hi , yup I Remember Miraclle Mart, but how about the very short lived Mon-Mart which was on Shevchenko & Laverendrye (frontage Laverendrye) That place sat empty for years & then used, as a storage type building,I'm not sure if anything is there these days ? I posted a photo on the old MSN site a long time ago of a friend of mine doing a 'Burnout' in his '67 Camaro in that parking lot,it was pretty much an abandoned lot........ thanks for the input,............HF&RV

Also in the Miracle MArt mall at the far end (away from Bishop Power) was a little restaurant/bar called the St Tropaz, where I think it was Anne Rourke-Frew was a barmaid (or was it brenda???) Anyway regardless of who was dishing out the 'wobbly pops' I did have a few in there....also there was another shopping mall across from the Miracle Mart further into Lasalle called the Cavalier de Lasalle ( they had a bar too,or so it's been said. lol)

I remember the "Pinky Stamps" used to put them into a book for Gifts on redemption. Steinbergs miricle mart was an association that I forgot about...until now. I don't remember the Miricle Mart Money, but I guess I was just closer to the Dominion Store on Third Ave & Wellington. Yes Mon Mart was short lived and was soon after the Towers Store near Shevshenko (sp?)

Ah yes the "Pinky Stamps"
I don't remember the Steinberg "bucks" but now I recall the Steinbergs Miracle Mart affiliation. Thanks for the memory
