When was the last time you visited St. Joseph's Oratory? Where did you bring your out of town visitors?

A longtime ago Pauline, I did go there a few times when I still lived in Montreal,I guess a lot of us went, to see the place, I posted a bunch of phto's (old photos) on the old MSN site, I'll see if I can find those ones to share on here.I did visit there,in 1996,just to see it,(I'm not on their best attendance list, or any of their branch offices either ,.lol) but I wanted to see the place, & went through it completely, found a great pair of crutches too......lol I remember as a kid a few of us would travel around Montreal & explore places by ourselves as kids, the Wax Museum was one spot that was sort of neat in those days, and we all went up to the Oratory too....(what's the penalty for stealing medals from the little store, near brother Andre's chapel ? Yikes !! straight to hell for that I guess......but mind you they used to march us down quite often to StWillibrord's Church from the Willibrord's school, to cleanse our souls......(some of us may have missed the complete march to the church two X two ,I know the line was a lot shorter upon arrival at the church than it was when it left the school,.......

You have to be kidding ,you mean you actually shoplifted from a church. The whole idea of the Oratory was for them to take your money .What did you do with the crutches? If I did that I'd be afraid that some how I'd get my legs broken.I'm pretty sure you got more than ten Hail Marys for that.Pauline

Do you remember the Corpus Christi Parade? You had to wear your first communion veil and marched along the street to the Church .It took place sometime in May. I don’t remember if the boys had to be in the parade. It seems like we were always being marched to the church for something.

Last time we visited was around Christmas five years ago. My son, daughter-in-law and two young granddaughters accompanied us to Montreal for a snowy Christmas....which we got big time. Paula is Catholic and wanted to visit a church during the holidays, so we took her to St Joseph's Oratory and she was absolutely dazzled by the beauty of the place. She also experienced toboganning at Beaver Lake in -30C weather, so in one day she managed to experience what Heaven and Hell could be like!....lol....Diane

Pauline I'm kidding......hahahahah ( about the crutches, I found them along with a thousand others), but yup stole a few medals ,they were St Christopher Btw: & he;s been thrown out, anyway. hahahahaha so I was doing them a favour ,getting rid of some surplus stuff, mind you I did it a decade or so before they decided to show old StChris the Exit................

Les Glad to hear you stole St. Christopher and not a lipstick..lol
By the way they kept him as a saint, they just wiped him off the saints calender so you got travel protection all those years at a premium rate. Pauline

Pauline if they did have lipstick there, after all the stories that have come out (so to speak) of the RC Church and the pope unoffically apologising, all over the world (sort of), I would think the lipstick tubes were being scooped up by the priests..............hahahahahahah
