Belmont Park

This park was baptized BELMONT PARK,
The BELMONT PARK COMPANY LIMITED was legally constituted as a corporation with patent letters from the Government of the Province of Quebec , on May 16th, 1923
it operated for almost 61 years apprently............ I have a whack of photo's saved over the years ,which I will post later maybe............................HF&RV
(this info can be read on the Yves Gaudreau site re: Belmont park he was one of the relatives to the founders of the park on May 16th ,1923 (my birthday btw: ,yea, lol) here's the link to that site:

Diane,
The Belmont Park are is now a park with a short boardwalk (yes a real wooden one like in old Verdun)along the river to the bridge. I took some photos of the area about 2 years ago and posted them on the old VC site. I will see if I can dig them up and post them. Anything for an ex-Verdunite.

Does La Ronde still operate as an amusement park in the summer? We never visit Montreal during summer months because the last thing we want to do is chase the heat (living in Australia provides all the sunshine and heat we can stand!)....Diane

Yes the La Ronde amusement park still operates in the summer. The heat we get in Montreal is very agreeable except for the odd heat wave, not at all like the heat in tropical areas.
