Visit Members Site's

Diane's hibernation post reminded me ,of this,.. Just a thought, if you click on a members photo (or headshot) you will have several choices,.the first one is 'Visit so & so'd Site'....I would encourage everyone to visit other member's site ,.maybe check out their photo albums etc etc .... I know I don't post everything in duplicate, both the VC & my site,.so I'm sure we might find other interesting pictures or it may prompt a question or story or two,who knows....Sign their Guest Book,if your so inclined, generally most posted msg's or pictures do show up in the 'In Box' of most members, but some settings maybe set ,so as not to automatically show up in Our In Box's ,.  So checkout all the stuff available .................                                           HF&RV

Hi Les
I have spent many hours lately reading the site's history from 2002 and I want to thank you for bring it along. There are 176 pages in all and as I only found VC in November 2008 I had a lot of catching up. I also enjoyed looking at yours and Guy's collection of pictures.

Great Advice Les...I don't think everyone realises that they can touch base with other members by clicking on their photos etc. I really hope I didn't offend anyone by my Post, but I just wanted to stir the pot alittle...now I'll jump back into my Box!...Diane

most people have a nickname so if I don't know their nickname I don't know who they are. Mos often there is no description of who they are and of what era. I would love to hear from people I knew then and have loss touch with. I'm at fault also I need to get stuff in there. Especially to put a picture of me and not my dog eventhough she's better looking than me.

Great to hear from you Jumper01....but I'm sure you're better looking than your dog? Not that there's anything wrong with your dog! Good idea that members somehow indicate how old they are as there's a better chance that they might have known the same Verdunites. I'm 64 (65 in Nov...uuugh), very hard for a woman to tell her real age, but for you and VC members, that's the sad fact, now shhhh to anyone else!...Diane

I see from your Nickname and your profile that you are from the avenues and we have a slight age difference I will be 63. Your name is not familiar to me but often if they were from another "gang" we only knew one name. One or two years now is nothing but in those days it was a big difference.I hung around Dawson's with Norman English, Dickie Dixon, Butch Sherry,Wayne Douglas,Doug Simpson and many more. Some of my nicknames were Pepsi(not to my face) Stump and Jungle or Robert pronounced (Row-buy)

None of those names ring a bell Robert...I hung around with Eddie Lowson, Johnny Bourgouin,
Phil Romandini, Malcolm Alsop, Pat Duynes, Diane Castonguay etc. as a teenager. We hung around the Pav and Prince George in the winter. As you say, a couple of years as a kid or teenager was a lifetime....now, it's like a bat of an eye!....Keep well....Diane...or should I say Je de souhait bien!

Les is right to encourage everyone to visit other member's site by clicking on their photo or nickname.
Once you've connected, you usually can see the real name of the member and hopefully some of their history. If they have photo albums, it usually indicates at the bottom how many photos are in that album. Just click on the cover photo and the others will also appear. To increase the size, just click on the first photo in the album, then scroll down to see if more info is listed at the bottom of the photo. As you'll see at the top, you can just click on "next" to view another photo in the same album. Hope this is all clear and helpful, as I just discovered this today by spending time updating my own albums...Have a great day...Diane

That's a lot of clicking!I just wish that everyone would have their actual names on their posts so that members could think "AHA"! I remember that girl/guy! I am so sorry to say that I miss the old site, and may not be on this one too often:cheers to everyone here though...I visit Verdun every 2 months or so and if I knew who I was writing to,even at the old Connections, it would have been great to get together at times! Anyway, thanks for starting Verdun Connections a few years ago-it was amazing!
Catherine Wilkins...my real name...lol!

Hi Catherine
I know just how you feel and I agree with you 100%.Change is not always easy but I enjoyed the old site so much and seeing familiar names and hearing their stories I am determined that it is not going to get the better of me and I will somehow master it. Give it time and practice with anyone on the site. They will help you.
By the way Catherine do you have a sister June?
