NORTEL Bankrupt

Well it was only a matter of time , today Nortel files for bankruptcy(protection),,,,,,,,shares dropped to .38 cents............   it seems any company regardless of it's country of origin these days ,are taking the oportunity to unload massive debt,at the cost to their shareholders,.almost like a Global Robbery of Savings & Investments,.seems to be quite coincidental that every country in the world has decided in the last few months ,that we are in an economic global crisis..................................
and so it rings true again that if you had of bought $1000 dollars worth of Nortel Shares the other day, or bought $1000 dollars worth of Beer,........your empties would be worth more than your stocks today...........YIKES ,............hahahahahaha
                                                                                                       Cheers !!   hf&rv
..........just added this big stubby bottle from a sign on a store in Chicoutami,...this guys business ,is probably in better shape than Nortel...........hahahahahahah

Les,
I bought 100 shares at $3.15 per share in 2003 wich is now worth nothing. Had I placed this same amount at 5% my 315.00 would be worth over 400.00 and this is not my only loss on the market. Nortel shares were worth $125.00 each a few years ago. They had a large manufacturing plant on the Trans Canada highgway not far from here wich employed thousands of people. The directors of that company filled their pockets and fled.
I have to console myself as not being the only one in this situation. C'est la vie.

Your right Guy, they did hit a fantastic high years ago, & then took an incredible tumble, it was hard not to be enticed to buy back in ,at such low prices, the same thoughts could be considered today,at .38 cents, but I imagine they must have stopped trading ,since applying for bankruptcy protection.....it doesn't mean the company's gone , but it certainly doesn't look good.At least you are not in at the old prices,....and yes the old story the executives of the company ,would have saved their dough long ago,....the unfortunate thing is all the employees, that will be effectively out of work...I still maintain ,there's a Global Robbery going on ,with every country falling into the same money problems ,all at the same time,..now some of it can be explained, but surely not all of it is to blame on a failing North American Economy,.......it seems to be the new great threat ,last year it was Global Warming, keep us like mushrooms ,feed us 'manure' & keep us in the dark, while they (whoever they are) Rob us Blind.......................................your right c'est la vie............HF&RV

Good News Nortel is still trading..........Bad News it closed at .12 cents....that = YIKES !!!!
I'm waiting till it hits .10 cents then I'll either give the empties in the garage to the boy scouts,or a needy group around here.......Which may be Nortel Executives going door to door collecting .
You will be able to get 12 Nortel shares for each case of empty beer bottles......hmmmmmm
hahahahahahahah

I wonder how many people are aware that Nortel was formerly the Northern Electric Co. founded 113 years ago in Montreal. Another interesting fact is that John Roth, one of the former directors walked away with 135 million dollards in 2000 and who knows how much another director, Frank Dunn walked away with. There are charges pending against these people but there is something wrong with the system when you consider the ease with wich these people are able to get away with these amounts of money.
