Ferry Service Verdun-La Tortue-Laprairie

There used to be a ferry service between Verdun and the South Shore as described in following articles/photos:

Service: La Tortue-Verdun, Sainte Catherine-Verdun, Laprairie-Montreal and Laprairie-Pointe Saint Charles.

Also enclosed is the tragedy that cost the lives of 40 to 50 people on the 19th of May 1819 above Nun's Island when a boat similar to the one shown capsized during a storm.
I have also reprinted photos of a ferry landing on torchy warf  (Quaie de la Tortue) that previously appeared as they are on the same subject.

Hello Guy,.I've seen many of these photos before,...i guess through internet searches etc etc ,...........but i am certain that the credit for the last photo in your previous post isn't from SHGV,.but rather from Dave_NC ,..a members here on Verdun Connections ,..personal photogrpahs,.of which he has quite a few interesting ones ,.relative to Verdun,.a few from arounf the Stadium.........( a few football teams) and also I am thinking that picture of the Buick on Torchy Wharf,...is his Dad's car.,,... but it would be neat if it was also found in a Museum's repetoire too.......assumming it was credited accordingly:  Just a Thought ..........( maybe Dave or the rightful owner) will post again to confirm............... have fun and remember Verdun   ............................

Les, Notice on the bottom of my post that I do mention Verdun Connection  (V.C.) as a contributor although I did not mention that Dave was the one although I could have been more specific. I will make it a point to mention it in the future. We all like to be credited when we make a contribution. Hello Guy I did notice the 'vc' mention,.but seeing I've found a few Museum Photo's with glaring mistakes,.and no mention whatsover of there origination,.I just thought I'd mention in case Our member Dave see's it & was wondering if 'even' we knew what we were doing ......... As for credits to posting photo's I think we all usually do a fair job ,crediting where we found something originally,at least most of us do,.when we can ( that of course includes you).... With the ever growing membership, many photo's will be posted ,and a lot of them we most likely will have seen before, and we probably remember who posted it,.but credits in sometimes are overlooked,...and I'm sure we don't want to upset anyone or make them feel overlooked for their initial contributions......................YIKES  Political Correctness strikes again...............hahahahahhahahah   and I both know we've posted stuff that's been duplicated,...........but that's called sharing isn't it?...............hahahahhahaha   Let's Correct the World ..afterall the power we've saved,it's the least we can do:                                                                                      HF&RV
