Abe connecting 1st time

Allan Brown here from 3rd ave. A friend mentioned this site and I visited a couple of times, saw several names from the past. I thought it would be nice to re-connect. Some might remember my younger brothers Jimmy, David, Peter & Paul.  I'm retired from education, and shuttling between the Nunavik area of Quebec and Eastern townships.  Dave is in Canmore Alta.  Peter and Paul are in Verdun. Sadly, Jim succumbed to brain cancer this past Nov 28th.

I ran into Phil Sheen who mentioned that Paul Burton was asking for news on my whereabouts.  Saw a post from June B who had some contacts with Jimmy.  Didn't recognize any of the other nicknames who posted replies.

Will try to visit Verdun Connections regularly and hopefully connect with friends from past.

Alan, I know your brother Peter Brown. I'm pretty sure I remember you as well. Didn't you do a stint at Dawson's Boys Club. If you did then you will remember my mom Edie Bowker, I also have a sister debbie and I am Cheri. We lived on Egan and Peter and my sister hung out together. Nice to see a familiar name.   Take care.

Hi Ab747Third (Alan), Just wanted to send my condolences. I grew up on 3rd ave. (626 & 355) and knew Jimmy for many years and have shared many laughs over those years. I have sat at the same table many many times enjoying a few drinks with Jimmy & Tex (Charlie Watt) and many others who I'm sure are truly saddened by his passing. Take care, Danny Biggs

Hi Allan:   Paul Burton is retired from CN and living in Toronto (Mississauga ?). He'll likely be at the Verdun reunion this Friday at the Strathcona. I sense that you are still living in Montreal, so attending may not be an easy thing to do.There are some photos posted of the Verdun reunion (circa 2002) - see photos page 7. Terry Diamond and Tom Nichols usually drive up from Montreal for the event.   Gord Gibbons Brampton, Ontario

Gord.   Paul actually retired from Nortel and lives in Burlington. I won't be making it up to the Reunion this year. Which makes lots of deer happy. Have fun and say hello to "the boys"for me.   Glen

I'm truly sorry to hear about Jimmy.I can still remember his imitations of  Mick Jagger at one of Phil Sheen's many parties or at a Dawson's dance. He was always one of the easiest going people I've ever met and I'm sure will be missed by many. I have and will always appreciate how you, Jimmy, Phil Sheen and Danny Mica all made me feel welcome when I moved to Verdun in 1964. I was going into grade 11 at that time at VCHS and making new friends would not have been easy under normal circumstances,  let alone the fact that I was coming from " the point ". If you get a chance, e-mail me at pburton2@cogeco.ca .I'm sure a lot has happened over the past 40 plus years. Again my condolences to the entire family.
