West of GTA could be 5-10 or so..guess it depends on how cold it gets..but hey remember it was worse back home...always like to watch the people panic here when it snows..like you never seen it before.

Now that wiwnter is officially here, I thought it appropriate to post this page of the winter edition of our SHGV revue. I am sure old time Verdunites like myself recognise these winter playgrounds. Guy

HI! The memories came flooding in. Did we ever take off when our toboggan hit the bottom of that Toboggan Slide's icy run! Around Christmas /Winter 1945, we used to climb those stairs in the dark , on our ice skates, crouch and roar down the runs! What a rush it was. (Late and after the lights were turned off, with everyone gone home) We'd skate home on icy roads! Ahh, those were the daze! Sez Victah

Guy Does anyone remember when that building beside the red top burned down. It was for the tennis. You could feel the heat from it a street or two away.  Ron.

This winter post reminded me of long johns.    Do any of you old guys remember those pickly things with the flap in the back?  My foster mum always dressed me in those as soon as it started to get cold.    I hated them!—for about a day I'd squirm around in them until either my skin got used to it or the prickly stuff went away, whichever.   T.G.I.F., fellow Verdunites!   Jack

Ron, I am not aware of the fire you mention. I would like to know more about it for our archives. There must be some photos around of this building. Guy
