real names

Is there ANY way that people (newbies and long-time members) can have their real names  posted....it's just awful that we don't really know who we are talking to,when it could be a great past  friend from Verdun High for example...I have posted a few times but find it frustrating that I don't know who I am writing to....I love it here but I feel like I am always "guessing" who I am responding to about the wonderful old days in Verdun! My name is Cathy Wilkins....and  I just wish that everyone here would be straight up and give us your names...imagine how nice it would be to re-connect with buddies from Verdun and know who we are talking to! Thanks, just my opinion....Cathy

Hi Cathy I concur. Also when searching for old friends a approximate era would be helpful. For instance my era was the 40s and 50s.

Hi Cathy,.as you can see there is nothing stopping anyone from using their names,.or not,.but when you join MSN or any group on the net it asks you immediately what 'user id' you would like to use online......& that's what always appears, but I can see the pro's & cons of both sides,.if you were walking down the street in Verdun ,you wouldn't talk to just anyone you would always acknowledge people you know,..and there may have been some you wouldn't talk to. and I've seen on every kind of group just about people who would otherwise never have talked to each other ,actually converse,.& then they can choose to,eventually send those ones they like ,their personal emails(rather than the hotmail ones) .............  We have heard the suggestions in the past as well,& I for one think that it should be left up to the individual,as to what they would like to do:                                                                                   HF&RV

Cathy   I would agree with you that people sign their messages with their real names. It does make it hard as to you reply to,   Roy Molyneux   VHS class of 69
