I just came across this Wellington Street webcam..........(it's not very good,)
& I think it's down near the Montreal end of Wellington ST
but here it is,............
I really would have thought that in this day & age of Hi-Tech cams & stuff,.that there would be far more cams set up all around the place,.. maybe SHGV would be interested in placing a webcam on the outside of the building just looking towards Bannatyne, or one that could do a 360 ,???
or maybe the City of Verdun would consider placing one on the top of the City Hall,which would provide great views around Verdun & towards Nuns Island,& towards the Mountain............... These cameras are relatively cheap & require little maintenance if installed properly.......Maybe it's worth asking them..................
or even just a few private webcams pointes out a window,in various parts of Verdun,.....like on a RedTop,.....or on the Roof of the Natatorium, or Auditorium....................................What do you Think??

Les, You have to be carefull here, remember BIG BROTHER, I don't think the public would welcome being spied on around every corner. The only reason for their use is to prevent crime. Perhaps their use might be justified at certain strategic areas. England, perticularly London make widespread use of these cameras. \Also they are very usefull on police cars. Guy
True enough Guy,.but I am very surprised that not more people have at least a webcam trained on their own street or property, many cities around the world have innoncent enough cams......just looking out there back door.......................................Remember the CCR song Oooh o oooh ooooh oooh Looking out my back door.............hahahahha In any case it would be neat to see some video of say Wellington Street on a bust weekend,.......or people walking ,cycling ,joggin down the waterfront ( the old Boardwalk)............................or just People watching on StCatherine,.........................afterall Montreal does have a small webcam base,....(boring actually) ,...but it seems to be sanctioned by the City http://www.montrealcam.com/ ............these are very basic cams ,.that have been around for 5 years,.....and haven't gotten any better,..........................with todays Technology,.......I expect more,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but I guess I'll survive on all the different pictures we come across here on VerdunConnections.................................. have fun & remember Verdun
