VERDUN IN WASHINGTON DC

All "OLD" Verdun Folks:  Last night 3 Old St Willy's school friends Brian O'Connell, Jerry Duggan and Myself Pat Leonard were having some Suds at Joe Thiesman's in Alexandria, Its been 50 years since we've been together one time or another and we are all still kicking.  Our stories were unbelieveable but true. We all miss Verdun but we cannot live in the pass just keep moving forward.  By the way we all get to Verdun every 3 to 5 years for our Smoke Meat, Hot Dogs and St Hubert's Chicken.  Life was great there and our friends the best.  Tx Pat

Hello = At one time back in the early to mid 50's, did Brian O'Connell live on Lasalle Blvd between 5th and 6th Avenues????  If so, I think I went to St Willi's with his sister.....I can't remember her name though.  Thanks - Judy in NB

Irene:  Where in FLA.  We moved to Tampa in 96 and returned to VA when the  Children (4) moved back to this area from all over the US/College.  I was talking to my sister Diane (Toronto) and she said she went to school with you St Willibrords and/or St Gabriels in the point.  It was fun and we hope to do it again within the next 6 Months.  I think Gerry is moving to Myrtle Beach, in fact I think he is visiting there now.  Nice to hear from U.  Take care Pat

Hi Irene - Wow...what a pleasant surprise to hear back from you!  You probably don't remember me....and I can't even think what grade we were in together...it would have been probably 6, 8, 9 or 10 but in 10, I was only there for a couple of months and then I quit to join the 'workforce' so maybe it wasn't then.  Anyway, what I remember when I think of your name was that one time there was a group of us at your place on Lasalle Blvd(second storey) and I believe we were playing "Post Office" or something like that.  I think I had a crush on Brian at the time...so....when we had to do the 'big kiss-aroo' thing, I was just thrilled to bits.  Isn't it weird the silly things we remember from our childhood???  If you'd like to write to me, my addie is:  djmcnab@nbnet.nb.ca  .We've been living in NB since 1984. It was great to hear back from you - take care. judy(grayburn) in NB

Hi Judy, nice to hear from you. Yes I remember those parties we used to have, we had a lot of fun back in those days, wish the world was still the same today so as our kids and grandkids could have the same safe and happy times, but unfortunately the ways things are now is such a shame. Maybe one day things will return. I'll email you personally either later today or tonight. Take care and God Bless.
