Well Happy Anniversary to be,.......I wish we still had some of those original posts,.& pictures,....Remember we thought we were running out of space, and consequently we lost the first 6 months of stuff,..........Yikes,.... the Growing Pains we've had in the early days of MSN ( glitches & all) but all in all ,some great memories shared and new people coming on board all the time,........as well as many older members popping in once in a while,.... ........Yup   Verdun Connections was a great Idea,..and a much Appreciated venue that is still going,...........    Thanks to you MaggieMck & your intial group of Verdun Folk that helped to make it possible.........................    Merci Beaucoup The first person I met on here I think was DannyB ( an old schoolmate friend).......who I haven't seen since we were teens.............hahahahaha .......Also many new Connections seem to have been made by many others,.        Also Remember when MSN wouldn't accept Our old ID's,..and we had to rejoin (and that's when they slapped that goofy 'happy Face with the shades on,beside Our names).............hahahahahaha  and they are still there today.......Yikes,........        but with all the time that's passed ,  I hope you all really do -----           -------------  Have Fun and Remember Verdun------------------Cheers

UNBELIEVABLE THAT IT HAS BEEN 5 YEARS. TIME HAS PASSED BYE WITH BLAZING SPEED. AT ONE TIME I READ EVERY POST THAT WAS WRITTEN THOUGH DUE TO TIME RESTRICTIONS AND THE POPULARITY OF THIS SITE IT BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP UP. I STILL READ A LOT OF THEM. I LEARNED ABOUT THIS SITE IN THE VERY EARLY STAGES FROM ALAN ARCHI. WHO HAD JUST CONTACTED ME THROUGH CLASSMATES AFTER WE LOST CONTACT FOR 30 YEARS. HE HAD JUST HEARD ABOUT THE NEW SITE AND SENT THE LINK TO ME. SINCE THEN I HAVE MADE MANY NEW CONNECTIONS AND RECONNECTED WITH MANY OLD FRIENDS LIKE LES WHO WAS THE FIRST PERSON I CONNECTED WITH ALONG WITH HARLEY BOTH WERE SCHOOL MATES SINCE 2ND OR 3RD GRADE AND BEAR WHO HAS SINCE CHANGED HIS HANDLE OR MEMBER ID WAS ALWAYS AROUND THE SAME PLACES AS I WAS BACK IN THE 70'S. WE'VE SHARED A LOT OF MEMORIES, GOOD TIMES AND A LOT OF LATE NIGHTS. ANYWAY THIS POST IS STARTING TO GET TOO LONG AND BORING. THANKS MAGGIE AND LES FOR YOUR PATIENCE IN KEEPING THIS GROUP FREE OF THE CRAP THAT TAKES OVER FAR TOO MANY GROUPS.  DANNY

dannyb   on my travels to verdun, i always go to the spots were we hung around the memories. always looking for a face walking down verdun avenue, we lost alot of our freinds most at young ages. the names are still there on the boardwalk benches, that were carved into the wood while we were drinking our beer chit chating away. today under the red top there's a drinkng fountain, benches still there i'll post a pic to share, you may still see the markings on the wooden benches.

What is your Verdun "connection"? Do you get to visit? Is there a long ago friend that you would like to catch up with or at least find out about? That's what Verdun Connections is about. Making new friends with a common background is a bonus!

Congratulations! This site has provided the opportunity for all of us to be back at home regardless of distances... a kind of "internet reunion". It has also broadened our knowledge of the area where we grew up and how rich it is. Some of us have photos to share and unfortunately for many reasons others can't contribute. Thanks to all who add pictorial life to Verdun Connections... a picture is truly worth a 1,000 words. Continues success in the years ahead
