I had neighbours on 2nd Avenue during the 40 & 50s named Lawton. There were three brothers and two sisters. John, Eric, Tom, Margaret, Shirley. John was the oldest and worked for the CNR. In 1950 I guess John was 20 years old. They all married and had lots of children. Tom the youngest, would have been about 9.

Giving up on searching for the Lawton family members I knew. It's like finding a needle in a hay stack. It's strange but I lived on 2nd Avenue from 1941 to 1958 and in that time only knew to say hi to, maybe 25 people. There were hundreds of individuals on just my block alone, so to find someone you knew really well is a turkey shoot at best. There are some great posts on V.C. which bring back dusty old memories which I treasure Like the Nat). Keep up the wonderful participations.

If you check back I am the daughter of Shirley Lawton. I came across this old post and thought I'd let you know that you had success :-)

Hi biking2006

I just wanted to let you know that you have had success. I am Shirley's daughter.

Shirley and Tommy are the only surviving siblings. But their are a lot of children and grandchildren. Some are still in Montreal others are mostly in Ontario.
