Jessie Hill (Davis)

This is my mother.  I would appreciate anyone telling me about her.  I last saw her about 30 years ago.  I went to live with my father after their divorce and don't really know much about her.  I know that she graduated VHS in '54 or '55.

Thanks in advance.

I last saw my mother 31 years ago when I was 19.  I passed her in Alexis Neon Plaza and we exchange hello's.  I spoke to her in '95.  She was living in Laval at the time.  When I tried to call her a year later, her phone was disconnected.

John, do you know your mother's middle name?

In 1942 there was a Jack Davis listed at 318 Melrose Avenue - they are the only Davis on Melrose - two Davies so this was probably her day.  Perhaps knowing her address might bring in a few clues.

Big Fellow,
This is very sad. My parents broke up when I was five but I was fortunate that my grandparents raised me. My father moved to Windsor, Ontario and I only saw him a few more times in life. Our youngest son has a friend in New York who's mother left him and moved to California when he was age seven. When our son's friend was in his twenties he saw his mother in a Long Island restaurant. He just looked at her, he did not say a word. His mother did not recognize him. He never approached her to introduce himself. Big Fellow, I hope you find your mother. Life is short and it's never too late to make up.

Thank you for your kind words and sentiments.  I am looking and hoping, but I hope for sucess and plan for failure.  I expect to have it fall somewhere in the middle.  I can only try.

I am not sure of my mothers middle name.  I remember that she used to joke that it was Wylie.  But I am not sure.   My grandfather was Mel Davis.  I know that they were on Melrose after '51.

I notice there was a Malcolm Davis, 318 Melrose, 1953-54.  Also, at the same time, listed at this same address was Jack Davis (Printer).

It was Melvin Davis.  I seem to recall thinking on it.  That I had heard that they lived between Buerling and Banantyne on Melrose.

Are you sure that it was not Davies for last name??? seems to me there were two families much further up the street - the only Davis was down below Verdun Avenue according to the Lovells Directory.

No, it is Davis.  My Grandparents were Melvin and Isabell Davis.  Her brother was Andrew, known as Sandy then and Andy later.

Hi   The Andy Davis you spoke of how old would he be? I know Andy Davis who lived on Melrose and then move I think to western end of town. Would be in his fifties now.   Lad

He would be 51.  I know that he was friends with Kent Saunders.

Bigfellow   Would he be the one in question. I got an email from him month or so ago.   Lad

He is the one.  I believe that he is in Ottawa and with DND.  He doesn't know either.
