personal info&looking for...

My name is Steve Mace. Son of Robin Maddeaux, brother of Dave Mace. My brother and I went to Riverview...

We lived on Allard Ave. until 1984, when we moved to Ontario. Our neighbours were Doreen, Jackie, Wendy and Cindy Maye. I recently made contact with a childhood friend from Allard Ave; which made me wonder what may have happened to the rest of my friends?  The people I'm most interested in finding out what happened to them are Fred Langavine, Gary and Kenny Parr, and Mark Krysholnowski... any info would appreciated.

I now live in Auburn Hills, Michigan...

I'd just assumed all my childhood friends were victims of the Anglo-expulsion as my family were...

Cheers.

Steve  Your Secret is safe with us...............hahahahaha Ontario, that's cruel & unusual punishment for sure,..............I think a Catholic rural school would be far less traumatic.............hahahahah

Les - the Catholic high school I went to the boys were taught by brothers and they played a great game of hockey - in their robes no less and boy did they know how to use the robes to stop a puck and they were not above a brawl either.

ShirleyBh2,............maybe that's where   Patrick Robes (Roy) got the idea' hahahahahah    Remember the size of the sweater he wore,................ as for the brothers playing Hockey,.we had them too at VCHS,.but the one s I saw most often were the brothers from the school on Galt,.just down from my house ,where the brothers let us all 9 the kids in the neighbourhood) play on this rink that they kept watered, and left the 'light' on way past curfew on many a night,..........I lived down the lane from this school and got to play hockey for many an hour,...........but the odd time you'd see these French Brothers come out and skate around ,....they were good........mind you we were kids,.........So I guess it's all relative..........but we did have them come out on their balcony overlooking the rink & suggest we go home ,it was late,.......So we would do the honourable thing ,.and stay & skate,.but don't shoot at the boards........................................that can be annoying.....hahahah

les__f MSN said...

as for brawls ,.your right they were not above that,.......and I don't mean just on the ice,..............I had a few good go arounds with a couple of them ,with the result being that I was informed that my services as a student in VCH, were no longer needed................hahahahahahah ........ ..............but most of them were good characters,.......and I went on to LCCHS

Hi Steve, we lived on Allard as well, and we were very good friends with the Maye's. They were family friends for a long time as my father Ron Sr and their father Jack were CN COPS together in the 60's.

I am Mark Tite, brother to Rob, Ron, and Susan.

Where did you live on Allard?

Hi Mark,   Did you live in the same block as the Desjardins?  I lived across the street at 1071 - I think I was younger than Ronnie.   Julie Heaney

julie MSN said...

Robert Heaney.  What is your mother-in-law's name?

shirleybh2 MSN said...

There was a Heaney family in the West End around Saint Antoine and just a bit east of Atwater. - not sure how many were in the family but the girl I remember at St. Anthony's School was a Carol Heaney.

les__f MSN said...

For a few of you who were talking about the Heaney (Heeney) family,......I came across this site today while surfing for Verduntype of stuff,....and it mentions a Heeney family coming from Ireland originally,.and settling in the USA,.but they also mention of some of the family that emigrated to Quebec, maybe this site will get you in touch with some long lost fam,ily members,.i hope t does,.,,,,,,,,,,so here's a bit from that site:(I'll post the link to it at the bottom of this post:    Some of Charles' descendants are still  in Quebec today. James McGoldrick, born in 1815, who married Catherine Hinchey in Quebec in 1848.  James was not a butcher and attended a trade school in Ireland.  He died in Quebec on May 24, 1879 and is buried in Quebec in the cemetery of the  the Church of St. Catherine de la Jacques Cartier, in Portneuf, near Quebec City
Margaret McGoldrick McInenly, born in 1820 in Ireland and died after 1880 and  who married James McInenly in Quebec and eventually moved to New York.  They had eight children.  Many of their descendants are still in New York today. .........Here also is a note to all Family Members,..................and an email address  To Family Members:  If you have a photo you are willing to let me have so that I can scan it and add it here, I would appreciate it.  I will return it to you as soon as possible.   I have no photos of  Ann Heeney, wife of John, or Margaret Cull McGoldrick, wife of Patrick.   I also need photos of  John Heeney II, and James Heeney, Jr.   Any photos of the Heeney family members would be appreciated.  I will copy the photos or pay to have them copied and return them to you as soon as possible.  I have made a CD of all the pictures I have.  If anyone in the family wants the CD, I will be happy to mail it to them at no charge.  I am collecting e-mail addresses for family members.  If you know of anyone who wants to be  updated about this page and has an e-mail address,  please let me know  .
