A tribute to Verdun

Hi
Since a few of you were discussing books I have one called ROOTS BENEATH THE PAVEMENT
It was written by M. Laurel Buck about Verdun in th 30's and 40's although before my time Bannantyne School is mentioned and also one of the teachers memtioned did become Vice-Principal of VHS. Also a mention of Buzz Burling.  I enjoyed it.  Are there any other books out there on Verdun.

Gloria, I have been looking for that book since I read "Stream of Memories" also by M. Laurel Buck. I attempted to buy one on the internet but the seller lost it. Stream of Memories is more about the Megantic County area but does mention the "cold-water" flats in Verdun where she spent time as well. Arbutus, it is published by a Quebec company called Shoreline Books.

Glo, I would certainly like to get my hands on that book called ROOTS BENEATH THE PAVEMENT as it covers my period growing up in Verdun in the 30s and the 40s. I will see if it is available at the Verdun Library. Guy
