What this free service does is allow you to talk long distance within Canada and the US free through your computer. I use Skype between Ontario and Hawaii.

I use skype with my sister in Montreal from Calgary and also when my husband is in Dubai or Abu Dhabi but Skype also have a phone service - we use the computer to Skype not the phone line.  I think the cheapest is the service my sister uses .99 cents for I think an hour or maybe its 30 minutes - she dies 1010 something or other and it is .99 whether she gets answering machine or yaks for the duration.
