Military Training in Montreal

Here's an interesting article ,in the news ,the Miltary will be performing exercises, over the city for a few days,.....
Now we have many military exercises going on here in Victoria ,as we have both a navy base here in town,.and we are in close proximity to American naval bases,as well,..So it's understandable to have exercises, here as it is the Gate to the Pacific,...and so they practice out here,in the waters around this coast,
but it seems odd to practice (whatever it is they practice) over a city like Montreal,.
Interesating though that they will be travelling over some well travelled hwy's around Montreal.........maybe some of our members might get some pictures of these helicopters, hovering near buildings,..and such......that would be neat to see:I've always like any type of Military Craft,......
Here's the article as it appears on the CJAD  home page:

Military helicopters are training, nothing more

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a CH-146 Griffon military helicopter, and you might see a bunch of them swooping all over the city.

The 427 Special Operations Aviation Squadron with the Canadian Forces will be conducting training exercises in Montreal, today and tomorrow.

The choppers will be based out of Trudeau Airport and their flight paths will send them along the 13, the 20, and the 720, up to the Mountain.

They say every effort will be made to minimize the impact of the exercise on the local population, though, at times, you might see the helicopters hovering near or above buildings.

..............................Training Nothing More,......(they wouldn't lie to us would they?)

hahahahahahah.........Let's start a conspiracy theory...........

Do you remember the cannons at Woodland park. On special days they fired them out over the river. In 1947 they had a military day there. Three jets from Ottawa flew overhead. They flew low and passed so quick we barely saw them but a few seconds later the sonic boom caught up and people hit the ground.  Ed

Does anybody remember the cannon that was at Willibrord parc after WW2. We used to play on that cannon in the late 40s early 50s but it was removed later on. Maybe someone has a photo. Guy
