Hi Kungfu,   Hope your grandson wins in the tournament. You must be very proud of that young fellow.   Don't know who you cheer for in the Masters but I cheer for all the golfers.   I wish I could be that good.   Reggie Paine

Jimmy, I know people are going to think I have a one track mind, but if Gregoire's still exists in Ste.Martine, they used to have the best hamburgers and fries along route 138 on the way to Huntington. Once in Huntington you could fill up on exquisite hot dogs and fries at Pivin Patates. My parents used  to have a country place just south of Herdman almost on the US border.........................great times were had there, the place was called Parc Davignon. There were a lot of Verdun people that had places there including my Mom's best friend who is the mother of one of our members here............ m.p.u.

Ste Martine is a nice farming area, we lost 5  3   but great fun, The reason besides b ragging about my grandson , that I post this , is to allow people who are no longer around to visualize my trip through Montreal , as I was crossing the Mercier yesterday , I remembered riding my bike over the bridge as a 10 year old to see the show in Caugnawaga , can you imagine doing that today , with todays traffic , memories, hope you enjoy my travels , Jimmy

Always enjoy the travel storiues Jimmy(kungfu),.....I can immediately visualise the whole trip,.......that's also why sometimes while playiong on the computer,.I'll listen to the news & traffic reports from Montreal,....makes me feel like I'm right there,..............even though 30 years have passed since I was around there.,........   "Take the boy out of Verdun..........etc etc ...............but never get Verdun out of the boy                  Thanks for the stories,,,,,,,,,,,,,,/.

Kungfu, Your comments about going to Caughnawaga by bike reminded me of my own experience as a young boy. Me and my friend would also drop by Caughnawaga to see the Indian show. We got thrown out of town at one time, I guess we must have said something offensive. We would also steal apples from the farmers on the way, a stolen apple always tastes better. Fond memories. Guy

I remember crossing Mercier Bridge to see Chief Poking Fire in my Dad's station wagon.  We had our dog with us, and she was doing her usual "dog thing" out the open window.  Heck if she didn't jump out the window and start running across the bridge, dodging cars as she went.  Long story short....dad stopped the car, family piled out and stopped traffic....coralled dog back in car.....didn't get to see the "Chief in his TeePee" as Dad was so pi$$ed off at the dog!!!!   Cheers.
