Well, I'm not into sports except when my son played university football and I still don't understand why they dropped that red 'hankie' but let me tell you Edmonton is just a roaring here as the Oilers play against Detroit tonight.   The city is mad!  Everyone is dressed in Oilers Jerseys around town, and at work we had staff coming in from Calgary for a meeting dressed in red Flames jersey and were they ever loud!  Well you all know about that rivalry between Calgary and Edmonton. .. The histeria here equals the noise in Montreal.  Not since Gretsky...Well, Edmonton is called the City of Champions!    But you know, the game ended for me in Montreal after Pilon and the Pocket and the Rocket and Gordie Howe left.  Used to watch Saturday Hockey night in Verdun with my brother, and then I veered into other directions.  The game has changed too, hasn't it?    Anyone aware about the new hockey movie coming out called The Rocket.  I saw previews and looks good.  Reviewers already say it's the best hockey movie ever.  It was an era that I remembered and the Montreal Forum.  It's gone now and it's just not the same...   I'm going to read a book instead since the TV is being occupied by my family...Hey, we all have our passions! :)   P.S.  Someone must have scored cause I just heard a big yelp from the family room.  Sigh!

Hi MPU ,.....I have one of those exact penants,.......(the Habs one),..I wouldn't have the other one in the house.........hahahahaha  On one of my treks back to Montreal,..I went to a game,...Quebec Nordiques  vs.  Montreal Canadiens,.....this was way back when Montreal was no longer considered a powerhouse by any means,....but the ganes btwn. the Habs - Que.   were legendary,..for electricity in the air,..the crowds were always fired up for any meeting btwn. these two rivals,....the game was in the Shrine of Hockey ,the Forum of course,.......and you almost had the Cheeres as Loud for the Visitors,...as they were for the Habs,.....wqith the score tied at two apiece late in the third,........Guy starts Flying down the Wing breaks in and Scores,..............Well the whole place Erupted in cheers .............and it was nothing short of Electrifying..................20,000 + were on their feet spontaneously,.......and it was great,.............As I've mentioned everytime I visit Montreal I try to go to a game, barring it being a summer visit,.....or as a few years ago was the rare case they were not playing at this time of year,...(rare,but it happend ) ,but that particular time was memorable,.......and I've seen many a game in both venues...Forum/Molson/Bell/Centre............always fun to go although it's more fun when they are winning...of course:  I've got lots of Habs memory's and memorabilia, from sticks to ....well you name it...   Thanks for prompting my memory banks,....   I suspect the present day Habs (playing tonight at the BellC),.....are 'out of gas' and this is most likely their last game this year..............but I still wish them well. look for some integral changes in the off season,..and leading up to the draft,....                                                                                                            HF&RV
