AN IRISH FRIENDSHIP WISH

May there always be work for your hands to do;

May your purse always hold a coin or two;

May the sun always shine on your windowpane;

May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;

May the hand of a friend always be near you;

May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer

Third one:

Second sent of this post about an 1/2 hour between each:

Yes Pat, Jerry Trudell, I grew up with him on 2nd Avenue he was my
age. I remember his younger sister Barbara, their mom and dad.
Jerry's parents much later on moved over to River Street. I think his
dad was named Ernie and worked for a milk co, but I could be totally
wrong. His mom had a stroke I recall.
Jerry went to Wilibrord H.S. and went to work for Allied Chemical co.
He married young to a teenager named Marna. Good people.
Bill Cooper 457 2Nd.

I do Remember that Sandy,......didn't we have someone who was going there for a vacation,.???  I also thought it was open last year,but I guess not,.$25bucks plus other entry fees........wonder what that translates to,in terms of actual cost,.....???   It must have cost a lot of dough to build,.(probably all US taxpayers money)  unless of course the tribe has a Casino in the Vicinity too? but driving through the dessert with the terrific Free spots to see parts of the Canyon,.I doubt it would attract lots of big family's,...........I'll bet parking isn't free either,.....(in the middle of nowwhere like that)........hahahahaha I'd still like to do it,.....but it's most likely a one time thing   I think the last time I was in the CN Tower it was getting costly,as well,.glad I did plenty of times before though:   Was it Chris (a vancouver member I think that may have shared some of her Gran Canyon pics too)  was she going to go there?

Last year I asked if anyone here had heard of it, as I though perhaps it was some kind of joke.  I then wrote to the Arizona Chamber of Commerce, who wrote back that it was indeed going to happen, and that it was on Reservation territory.  Not sure if we'll pass by there this year, as we are thinking maybe, perhaps, would like to go back EAST, well not right now with the snow and all, but summertime.  If we do that, then we'll go to the Grand Canyon next year.  I went up in a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon when we were there in '94 or thereabouts.  I got to sit next to the pilot, up in the plastic bubble sort of cockpit.  Just as if I was floating in a bubble.  Loved it!  Anxiously awaiting a walk around this "bridge" also.   Wasn't it chickentaco that had done the Grouse Grind even though he/she was a smoker?  Something like that I think.

les__f MSN said...

Yes ,.right again,.Sandy,............either she was in traing for the Grouse Grind (a Mtn in Vancouver,..or she had already done it..........Good Recall, as for being half in the bag,............that's the only way I'd pay the dough twice,.but the ifrst time would be alright,..........but let me know if you want to sit in the patking lot and polsh off a bottle ...and then go out there & take pics, hahahah

Whadya think ,after that Vid ,.would you still rather prep for it ,out in the parking lot with a Jar or Two..........hahahahaha

Sandy, I'd like to suggest that you switch the order and do the skywalk 3rd. That way if it does collapse, you've at least done it all! I understand that if you fell that distance, you'd die of a heart attack before you hit the ground.

les__f MSN said...

That sounds well planned ,.and a lot of fun,,,,,,,,, It's really odd that you said you watched the video again,..I've just finished dinner / supper (did we ever decide that? hahaha)  and Get this on the News A-Channel ,.........they showed the Skywalk,......and a real great view from all around ,.as well as from the top,........and they zoomed in to show the GlassPanels ...........(real sharp) (cutting edge,if you will)............Sorry,.hahahah but it did look really really nice,...........I would say it's a must see ( at least once) I couldn't beleve it was on TV ,.I'll have a nother look at it tonight at 11pm news.......................... So anyone here on the Island who may read this ,.it was  A-Channel (12)...............the 11 pm news is a shortend version but they may still show that piece,......it's pretty neat

les__f MSN said...

Maggie I was thinking Exactly the same thing ............hahahahahaha   and Sandy your having a 'Late Dinner' ...............very nice,.....

Talk about danger does anyone remember hanging out of the streetcar going to work. I was always late. Rather than wait for the next car, I would grab the post and hang on the step with the other poor freezing saps. We used to hope that the parked cars we were whizzing by within inches of our backsides had the antennas down. Ed

Hi Linda I guess I missed that one,................guess your Moho is headed south,..

mom1945-linda MSN said...

Haven't got the details quite worked out yet, but hopefully we'll head down there first, then over to Buffalo to visit my other half's brother, cruise up to Kingston to visit my girlfriend, then on to Montreal to visit my family (brother / sister / son&family) then on to Ottawa to visit old friends and family there, up the Yellowhead, and then who knows...probably back through Alaska!   Now thats the plan for the moment, but it is continually changing.

Who's gonna water the Monkey Tree ???   hahahahahah  Fill up the Fridge,and leave a credit card ,.we'll be happy to pop by,.when go to Saratoga ,.or my buddy's place................hahahahahahaha              .we won't have any parties Mom,....promise !!!

mom1945-linda MSN said...

Bet your laughing at the Monkey Tree, eh?  Well, somebody drove by the other day and offered us $500 for that stupid tree.  We asked the fella at the garden center if they were worth that much, and he said because it was in a huge, gigantic planter and was fairly tall....yup....was worth that much.     This is my crying tears of unhappiness....my other half turned the guy down!

les__f MSN said...

Au contraire,....I like Monkey Trees,......but I didn't know they were getting that expensive,........I Remember when you posted a picture of it quite a while ago,.and I thought Teresa might like one for the Rock Garden out back,......but I never thought of it after that,..........but it was just the perfect size,.......as we just had (at that time) a little fir tree (same size roughly & same size pot).......and this past summer it just died,.....usually you can't hurt those things but after 10 years it croaked,.so I wanted to rplace it with something like that Monkey Tree,...........pssssssssst  (she's getting another christmas tree style) you get them at the Canadian Forestry Deprt.//// for a doantion............hahahahaha I keep an eye on it now,..especially now that you know someone else has an eye on it..............hahahahahah

mom1945-linda MSN said...

The thing probably weighs a ton, so they would need a crane to hoist it into truck.  I'm not quite deaf yet ... hahaha.... so I'd probably hear them if I was here, and, our nosy neighbours would probably see them if I wasn't here.   Hell, if that's all they wanted to steal, well ~ hey go for it and leave all my other stuff in the house alone.

Here's what I see so far (at least in Vancouver) 1st ad I found, listed as a Monkey Puzzle Tree,......( I can see that I guess) .......... Location: Vancouver
Date Listed: 27-Feb-07

FRESH SEEDS, $25.00 FOR 6, SEEDLINGS 1 YEAR OLD $30.00 5 YEARS OLD $120.00   EMAIL JCINKMAN@AOL.COM   .....so yours must be about 5-10 years old maybe?.............

les__f MSN said...

You don't hear much about it these days ,.but over the last few years,when the New Housing Boom' was on,..........people were stealing bushes,.and plants,.to landscape the property's ,.even the City parks here & in Vancouver were being hit,.........one was the City Hall Property ( I think ) I agree ,if that's all they want ,.then have at it.........hahahahaha We've got two large pots on either side of the stiars out front,..with thos bamboo plants in them,...I don't want them planted in the ground,.cause you'll think your in a Vietnam Rice Paddy,.within a a couple of years ,..they grow crazy,......... anyway my point is,.....I wish someone would steal them................hahahaha (but leave the pots,...)

mom1945-linda MSN said...

Yah, I'm guessing about 10+ years or so.  Know what you mean about the bamboo.  Got it planted in above-ground planters, and even so, it comes through the cracks in the wood.  But even with that, it's expensive.  A lady down the road from us asked me if she could take a couple of starters as it was so expensive to buy.  Gladly gave her a few.....hope she know what happens!!!!

I hung some beautiful flowers outside the Church and they were stolen. $35. each. So I hung artificial and they disappeared. One day on the way home I saw a very well dressed man grab a pot and shove it inside his coat. So I put black tar on the bottom of the pots. A few days later I found one laying in the road beside a very nice tie with tar on it. None have disappeared since. Ed

Les, It's weird that you mention me looking in the back window of a street car. It triggered a memory of me looking out. I was about 4 or 5 waiting with my Mother in front of the Forum to go to Eaton's. The streetcar stopped and I jumped on. When I looked out the back window there was my Mother running behind. I had jumped on the one that turns up Guy. When Mum looked back I was gone. I seem to remember saying something brilliant to the conductor like, "See that Lady chasing us. That's my Mother and I think she wants me." He pressed the button and stopped the car and I got off. I naturally got a good whack. Not for doing wrong but for scaring the hell out of her. Thanks for thr memory.       Ed
