Sandy that's what they say Habitant makes the best pea soup.Home made is good if it's done right.Peas soaked in water over night.Your stock pot simmering over night filled with hearty Ham  bones.Strain the peas add the stock cook till the pes are tender add more stock add tomateo puree add fine chopped veggies and season to taste. You get to empty the fridge of the leftover veggies.  Don't forget the Boston Cream pie.    Steve "have fun N play safe"

Hi Sandy, Did you ever find Habitant pea Soup in Stop N Shop? Tell Stew Leonard's about Habitant Pea Soup. I'll bet they would order it, it would fit right in with all the fancy stuff Stew sells.

Hi Sandy, The Stop n Shop where we shopped on Long Island (Medford-Exit 64) used to be a Finast Store which is a New England chain. Possibly that accounts for why they had Habitant Pea Soup & the Westchester Stop n Shop does not. I still have my Price Chopper card. Price Chopper stores are very popular in upstate New York and I did a lot of shopping there when the kids were in college. The Florida stores do not sell Libby's Chili which I used to enjoy up north. Libby's cooks great in the microwave & comes out thick, tasty & without the grease that the other brands seem to have. Merry Christmas & enjoy the Stew Leonard's basket-Walter

Les, Here's a web cam a little south of you in Los Angeles. Randy's Donuts. http://www.randysdonuts.com/web.html . Randy's has one store, they've been shown in a lot of movies, tv shows & commercials.

Hi Sandy, We had friends who moved to Tarrytown in 1973. Jean & Richard 'Buzz' Buzanski. Jean & Buzz were there until about 1990.

Sandy, I knew there was a reason why I like Stew Leonard. He couldn't buy Christmas Trees in a better place than Montreal. I drove through Westchester & Rockland Counties many times taking the kids to college in Upstate New York. Then on to Orange County where The Orange County Choppers Show comes from. I love those guys. I do not miss The Tappan Zee Bridge though. I think Jeanine Pirro your Westchester County District Attorney is great but she is always on TV. Who's watching out for crime in Westchester? A couple of years ago some magazine named Jeanine one of the ten most beautiful women in the world. Another thought about the upstate drive is that the first Price Chopper Store you see is in Middletown, New York. After Middletown you see Price Choppers everywhere. What about checking the Shop Rite store for Habitant Pea Soup? I'm going to go on a Florida search for Habitant. I did see two Quebec cars down here today (snowbirds). Thanks for thinking of me during Stew's commercial-walter

Hi Sandy, I used to love riding the train from New York to Montreal. The ride up along the Hudson River, then along the shores of Lake George & Lake Champlain is something else. Another thing that I find amazing is that the tide from The Atlantic Ocean goes all the way up the Hudson River past Albany to Mohawk, New York. The tide stops at the Federal Dam by Troy, New York. On the St Lawrence River the tide comes all the way to Sorel, Quebec which is 30 miles down river from Montreal. I know, I need a life besides Google searching. Regardless that train ride up the Hudson is a fantastic trip. Last year when I left New York, Metro North was talking about train service from New York City to Albany which would be an addition to the Amtrak service. People along the Hudson were bitching however in my opinion trains are a lot better than crowded highways. Did that issue die or will Metro North expand their service? Hope all is well in The Empire State today. Are you going to run right out and buy one of Stew's Montreal Christmas trees? Walter

Hi Ruth, I'm on the case. I still can't find Habitant Pea Soup in Florida. No luck with Winn-Dixie or Publix. I still have not checked Albertson's. Any Plattsburg news?
