Hi Winston,
I am stuffed with Turkey and all the fixings. Watched the Dallas
Denver game and a good time was had by all. Time for a nap.

Yes, you did that say LOL  As soon as you mentioned goose it brought back memories of all you guys playing "Goose the Moose" which I am sure you remember well.  The last time I remember playing is when we were all at Bumpy's in Vancouver and Gordie Brennan was there!  I never laughed so hard as I did at his reaction and responses.  In fact I am 99% sure I have it all on video.  Will have to check around for that.   Anyone else every play "Goose the Moose"?   Connie

Good to hear from you Bill. We held our Thanksgiving on Saturday. We had all the family over and some relatives. Had turkey of course. I cooked up an 11 pound prime rib. I used a few good spices and added some Jack Daniels. I marinated it for 2 days. Even the young ones loved it. Seeing that I gave up drinking about 25 years ago, this is the only way I can get my holiday fix I guess. I usually make ham with a similar recipe, but will do that for Christmas. What a wonderful time of the year. The start of the "holiday season". I have been told in the past that some people just are not happy during this period. I can tell you that makes me very sad. Hopefully there are not people on our beloved Verdun Connections like that.  Winston Allison

Winston, You are so right from Thanksgiving through to Christmas there
is a nuttiness in the air mainly for people who have come from abusive
families -- unhappy family get-togethers. Thank God for AA which has
enabled me to work through all those Irish virus issues. Except for
the Eucharists, I haven't touched alcohol since August, 1976.

I'd like to know your prime rib roast recipe. I love this dish but
have had terrible results with the various recipes I've tried. I have
a new oven and three meat thermometers, so what's the problem?

Bill. I don't really have a recipe for that prime rib. But I do have a secret something I put in it. But I can't tell you what it is. But I do use equal parts salt, pepper, garlic salt, Emerils original essence, olive oil, Montreal steak seasoning, and onion salt. PLUS a few ounce of Jack Daniels. Okay I will tell you the secret part. You can't buy it here. You can onlt get it in Canada. It is V-H spare-rib sauce, Medium Garlic. Mix it all together, slap it on the roast. Wrap the roast up in press & seal, and aluminum foil. Leave it for a couple of days in the fridge.Cook at 300, for about 15-20 minutes per pound. Winston
