give and take!!

Hey Ralph,

I just wanted to say "Thanks So Much"  for going out of your way to
help reconnect me with my cousin John. Andrew passed my email address along to
his Dad and we have been emailing and getting caught up on what has
happened over the last 35 years or so! Not only did I make contact with John,
but he has put me in touch with other relatives as well! This world really isn't
that big after all! Thanks again!

Best Regards,

Alan

Alan;
Glad to hear that John has contacted you, and that I could be of some help. This is another example of how special Verdun Connections is.

Hi Alan, My Grandmother was Isabel Archibald from Truro, Nova Scotia. Are we from the same tree? Walter

Hi Walter,

I am not sure. My grandparents were from Dundee & Dalkeith Scotland. My
fathers parents died when he was young and he never knew of relatives on
the east coast, but that doesn't mean there weren't any. He did have an aunt
Isabel Archibald that lived in Montreal and was a teacher at the old De
Maisonneuve School. Her brother Harold Archibald was the principal there. There
were a couple of his relatives who went to Manitoba, but contact with them was
lost about 25 years ago. Let me know if you see any similarities.

Regards,

Alan

Hi Alan, My Grandmother Isabel Archibald was not a teacher. She passed away in Lachine in 1965. She had a sister that stayed in Truro, two sisters & a brother in Toronto and another brother named Percival who lived in St Catherines, Ontario. Every summer we would take the train from Montreal to St Catherines and stay at Percival Archibald's house, or Uncle Arch as I called him. Uncle Arch was fantastic. He'd take us on the streetcar to see the lights at Niagara Falls every night. Really a great era in my life-Walter

Hi Alan;          I was talking to Andrew Green in the grocery store earlier today, and he told me how glad his Dad was that you and he have started to exchange emails. He also told me that today is John's birthday. I encouraged him to get John to join Verdun Connections. If you have joined John, Happy Birthday !!! from Ralph on 9th avenue.          Sorry Alan ,I don't know anyone in Winnipeg, or I would try to help you out there. My sister lived there about 25 years ago, and I was lucky enough to visit a couple of times though.                                                Ralph.
