Patsy. I know what you mean about grandparents. But, I did Almost the same thing with my kids. I would tell my wife  not to spend to much because I did not want to spoil them. About a month before Christmas I would ask my wife to show me what she has for them, and I would always say, "Is that all you bought".She would say you told me not to spen to much. So every week I would tell her to get some more stuff, get some more stuff.  Which she would do. Now we are doing the same thing with our grandkids, only more so. With our own kids, it was a trial run. With our grandkids, we now have the experience and go hog wild. Besides, if the are spoiled and act that way with their parents. That is there problem and not ours. God has given us these little ones, so we can spoil them, And REALLY enjoy doing that. Also when we are gone, we want them to have good and wonderful memories of us.  Winston Allison

winston, we totally agree with you. christmas is for children. the joy you see when they open their gifts is priceless. we spend christmas with the family at our oldest daughters house and the gifts are opened after the family dinner. like my husband bill always says grandkids are so much fun we should have had them first or are we mellowing with age?? patsy

Patsy. Your husband is wise beyond his years. He is 100% right. We to should have grandkids first. What a joyful thought. I still cannot stop laughing. Winston Allison
