Hi Patsy, Out here on Vanc. Island the spring flowers (daffodils, crocus, tulips, etc) have all finished flowering, and the rodos, lilacs, wisteria, iris....are just coming into bloom. It's when I hear of snow storms in April that I'm happy I came west instead of east.   So, thanks but no thanks, don't want any.  Feel real bad for you.....really.   Cheers, Linda

My wife says I need to apologize about the 80F (26C) comment, because she thinks I was being a SMART A**. She said; " Did they make smart comments when we were freezing in Jan?" The woman is a SAINT. And I'm a man, I can apologize, If I have to, I guess. Winston Allison

hi winston no appologies needed. we were laughing when christmas day were outside with tee shirts, last moed the lawn dec 1, and had an easy winter till the blizzard hit. in the last 8 month we have had the hurricane and the blizzard white juan as we call it. at least we have very little air polution and our spring doesn't start till may, spring flowers don't bloom till june and winter doesn't start till jan. we are just a little mixed up in our seasons here.patsy

hi winston, we live in sackville nova scotia, about 20 km from halifax. our oldest daughter showed up today with a picture of my rose bush with a bud on it dec 3. alas it looks like it died over the winter after the blizzard. originally from gertrude  st. near regina till i got married in 1964. still a verdunite at heart as i met hubby at verdun protestant hospital(douglas now). we both worked there but it raises eyebrows here when people ask where we met and we always say a mental hospital. hubby is from mahome bay n.s. luv patsy

Patsy. Thanks for responding. Life is good. We Verdunites are scattered all over the place, but so many of us still remember the wonderful memories of our beloved Verdun. We only hope that our children have fond memories of their growing up places. Thanks again. Winston Allison
