snowstorms

patsy ginnhere i am thinking of when we went to VHS and had snowstorms. We are expecting a noreaster or weather bomb tonight with 50 cms. of snow    and still no snow and schools have been cancelled in halifax area,  telling people to stay home from work thurs.  What happened when we went to school??  Can anyone remember school being cancelled because of snow?? Supposed to have no power because of Hurricane Juan damaged so many trees. Guess i better start cooking because my daughters called and the grandkids want to here to go sleding, Thank heavens for 4x4.  patsy ginn

I have a good idea for you . Tell the grand kids that your going to play a new game Its called find the truck. They have to start at the bottom of the driveway and work there way up untill they find the truck. I would put the truck in the garage ...let them dig.

Hi Patsy Ginn,   Here's hoping you haven't lost any power in the Halifax region.  The news says that some regions out your way will receive up to 75 cm of snow!!!  When I hear this kind of news I guess I shouldn't complain about the little snow we get out here on the west coast.    Take care, Linda

linda, we have received 90 plus cm so far and the storm is not over yet. winds are 80 km an hour and the snow is half way up the patio door, the plows have been pulled off the roads and we are in a state of emergency here. hurricane juan was a breeze compared to this. even the dogs can go out 1 foot. and more snow for the weekend. still have power.  patsy

Good luck Patricia ,there is nothing funny when you get dumped on that way. Don't forget to clear your exaust pipe on the truck while its warming up. and clean the snow off your roof as soon as you can . It wont be hard to get up there now will it.

Hi Patricia....I've been following your storm even here in Virginia. Been thinking of you and what it must be like for you right now. Glad at least that you still have power. You sound in not too bad of spirits too, all things considered. geeeeeez 90 centimeters....incredible. I'm hoping for you that you DON'T have a warm spell right now but rather that the temps slowly decrease so everything doesn't melt all at once and cause even worse troubles. I find myself hoping that none of your dogs are the color WHITE too...might lose them out there! Thinking of you. Hoping today is MUCH better for you too. Luv, Sharon

I HOPE THAT YOU HAVE HEAT !!! God we went almost two weeks without heat in the ice storm and I still keep a coat near the bed. We heated water on a campstove and put it in coke bottles and put the bottles in bed Made sleeping muuch warmer. We still have a KIT just to be on the safe side.   Good luck

Hi Patsy, Thanks, but no thanks.  Don't want none of that snow over here, on the other side of the country.  But I notice you shared some of it with Ginny in Quebec, but that's okay 'cause she likes to build snowbabies and snow angels lol.   Glad everything's okay otherwise.   Cheers, Linda
