Legion Dances (Verdun Avenue)

Is there anyone out there who use to go to the Legion dances on Verdun avenue on Friday nights in the 60's?  I can't remember who put them on but they were great.

Yes I remember going to the Legion dances.  I hug around with Arlene Purvis and Wendy Mills.  Don't have any idea who put them on....but we sure did have a good time.

Hey Winterhater. I don't remember the Friday dances at the Verdun Legion. But I do remember the New Year's Eve dances. If I recall,  it was $20.00 a couple, with all you could drink and after midnight you also got a St. Hubert BBQ chicken dinner. Those were my drinking days and it was the least expensive dance in town. Those were some great times. Winston Allison.

Hi,

I remember going to quite a few of them. Those and
Dawsons were on a Friday night and the 'Y' on Lasalle
Blvd. were on a Saturday night. The Legion dances, on
Verdun Ave., did at times get a bit rough I recall.
One Friday night there someone was actually going
through the hall cutting people's hands with a razor
blade. I remember another night when a battle royale
fist fight took place outside. I recall Bruce Kornack
and John Campbell from Crawford Park being involved.
This was about '64 or '65.
I belonged to a club at the 'Y' called Fillipiti. Does
anyone else recall those 'Y' clubs?

Hi Miles,   Went to school with a Susie Gibson.  Lost track of her and her family about a year after but heard that she moved to Toronto.  She had, I think, three sisters.  Would you know what happend to her and her sisters.  Would love to get in touch with her.
